风娃娃长大了，他想像妈妈一样去帮助人。/El niño viento ya había crecido y quería ayudar a la gente como su madre./The Wind Child had grown up, and he wanted to help people like his mum.
风妈妈说到田野里去吧，在那里，你可以帮人们做很多事情。/Mamá Viento le dijo: «Ve al campo; allí puedes ayudar a la gente en muchas cosas»./Mother Wind said: “Go to the fields. There you can help people with lots of things.”
风娃娃来到田野，看见一架大风车正在慢慢转动，抽上来的水断断续续地流着。/El niño viento llegó al campo y vio un gran molino que giraba despacio; el agua que sacaba salía a trompicones./The Wind Child came to the fields and saw a big windmill turning slowly; the water it pumped up was trickling out in fits and starts.
他深深地吸了一口气，鼓起腮使劲向风车吹去。/Respiró hondo, infló los mofletes y sopló con fuerza hacia el molino./He took a deep breath, puffed out his cheeks and blew hard at the windmill.
风车一下子转得飞快！/¡De repente el molino giró a toda velocidad!/All at once the windmill spun round really fast!
抽上来的水奔跑着，哗啦哗啦地向田里流去。/El agua salió corriendo y entró en los campos con un gran chapoteo./The pumped water rushed along, gurgling and splashing into the fields.
秧苗喝足了水，笑着不住地点头。风娃娃高兴极了。/Los brotes de arroz bebieron hasta hartarse y asentían sonrientes sin parar. El niño viento estaba contentísimo./The rice seedlings drank their fill and nodded and smiled without stopping. The Wind Child was overjoyed.
风娃娃又来到河边，看见许多船工正拉着一艘大船。/Luego el niño viento llegó al río y vio a muchos barqueros tirando de un gran barco./Next the Wind Child came to the river and saw lots of boatmen pulling a big boat.
他们弯着腰，流着汗，嗨哟，嗨哟喊着号子，可是船却走得很慢很慢。/Encorvados y sudando, gritaban a coro «¡aúpa, aúpa!», pero el barco avanzaba muy, muy despacio./Bent over and sweating, they chanted “heave-ho, heave-ho”, but the boat moved very, very slowly.

那里有几个孩子正在放风筝。/Allí unos niños estaban volando cometas./Some children were flying kites there.
风娃娃看见了，赶紧过去用力吹。/Al verlo, el niño viento se acercó corriendo y sopló con fuerza./Seeing them, the Wind Child rushed over and blew hard.
风筝在空中摇摇摆摆，有的还翻起了跟头。/Las cometas se bambolearon en el aire y algunas hasta dieron volteretas./The kites wobbled about in the air, and some even turned somersaults.
不一会儿，风筝被吹得无影无踪，孩子们伤心极了。/Al poco, el viento se las llevó sin dejar rastro y los niños se pusieron tristísimos./Before long the kites had been blown clean out of sight, and the children were terribly upset.
风娃娃却一点儿也不知道，他仍然东吹吹，西吹吹。/Pero el niño viento no se daba cuenta de nada y seguía soplando por aquí y por allá./But the Wind Child didn't notice at all, and he went on blowing here and there.
就这样，风娃娃吹跑了人们晾晒的衣服，折断了路边新栽的小树人们都生气了，纷纷责怪他。/Y así se llevó la ropa tendida al sol y partió los arbolitos recién plantados junto al camino… Todos se enfadaron y le echaron la culpa./In this way the Wind Child blew away the washing hanging out to dry and snapped the newly planted saplings by the road… Everyone got angry and blamed him one after another.
风娃娃不敢再去帮忙了，他委屈地在天上转着，想着我帮人们做事情，为什么他们还责怪我呢？/El niño viento ya no se atrevía a ayudar; daba vueltas por el cielo, dolido, pensando: «Si ayudo a la gente, ¿por qué me echan la culpa?»./The Wind Child didn't dare help any more; he circled in the sky feeling hurt, thinking: I help people, so why do they blame me?
风娃娃回家去问妈妈。/El niño viento volvió a casa a preguntárselo a su madre./The Wind Child went home to ask his mum.
妈妈说孩子，做事情光有好的愿望还不行，还要看是不是真的对别人有用。/Su madre le dijo: «Hijo, para hacer las cosas no basta con tener buena intención; también hay que ver si de verdad son útiles para los demás»./His mum said: “My child, good intentions alone aren't enough; you also have to see whether what you do is really useful to others.”
