Lǔ Bān zào jù/Lu Ban inventa la sierra/Lu Ban Invents the Saw **
/Lu Ban fue un famoso artesano e inventor chino del periodo de Primaveras y Otoños./Lu Ban was a famous craftsman and inventor of China's Spring and Autumn period.
/Dicen que la sierra de los carpinteros la inventó Lu Ban./Legend has it that the carpenter's saw was invented by Lu Ban.
有Yǒu一yì回huí,鲁班Lǔ Bān领lǐng着zhe大家dàjiā建造jiànzào一yí座zuò宫殿gōngdiàn,需要xūyào很多hěnduō大dà木料mùliào,于是yúshì让ràng他tā的de徒弟túdì们men上shàng山shān去qù砍kǎn树shù。/Una vez, Lu Ban dirigía la construcción de un palacio y necesitaba mucha madera, así que mandó a sus aprendices a talar árboles al monte./Once Lu Ban was leading the building of a palace and needed lots of timber, so he sent his apprentices up the mountain to cut trees.
/Entonces aún no había sierras y se talaba solo con hacha, así que en un día apenas caían unos pocos árboles./There were no saws then; trees were cut only with axes, and only a few could be felled in a day.
/Lu Ban, preocupado, subió él mismo al monte a ver qué pasaba./Lu Ban was worried, so he went up the mountain himself to see.
/El monte era muy empinado; Lu Ban se agarraba a raíces y hierbajos y subía paso a paso./The mountain was steep; Lu Ban grabbed roots and weeds and climbed up step by step.
/De repente, una brizna de hierba le cortó el dedo y empezó a sangrar./Suddenly a blade of grass cut his finger and it began to bleed.
一Yì根gēn小草xiǎocǎo怎么zěnme会huì这样zhèyàng厉害lìhai?/¿Cómo podía una brizna de hierba cortar tanto?/How could a little blade of grass be so sharp?
/Lu Ban miró con atención y vio que el borde de la hoja tenía muchos dientecitos./Lu Ban looked closely and found that the edge of the leaf had lots of tiny teeth.
/Lo probó en el dedo y, al pasarla, le hizo un corte./He tried it on his finger, and one stroke made a cut.
This gave Lu Ban an idea: if he made an iron tool with teeth and pulled it back and forth across a tree, wouldn't it be much faster than an axe?
/Lu Ban volvió enseguida, hizo una y la probó en el monte: efectivamente, era rápida y costaba poco esfuerzo./Lu Ban went straight back, made one and tried it on the mountain: sure enough, it was fast and easy.
That's how Lu Ban invented the saw.
/Más tarde, la gente la fue mejorando y fabricó sierras de todo tipo./Later people kept improving it and made all kinds of saws.
