Huángdì de xīn yī/El traje nuevo del emperador/The Emperor's New Clothes **
Long ago, there was an emperor who loved wearing new clothes more than anything, but he would wear his new clothes only once and never wear them again.
/Con el tiempo, su sastre ya no era capaz de inventar ningún estilo nuevo de ropa./As time went on, his tailor could no longer come up with any new style of clothing.
/Un día, dos estafadores fueron a ver al emperador, y dijeron: “Somos tejedores venidos de muy lejos, y podemos tejer una tela especialmente hermosa./One day, two swindlers went to see the emperor, and said: “We are weavers who have come from far away, and we can weave a particularly beautiful cloth.
This cloth is very special: any foolish person cannot see it.”
/El emperador pensó: eso está bien, así podré distinguir quién es listo y quién es torpe./The emperor thought: that's quite good, this way I can tell who is clever and who is foolish.
So the emperor rewarded them with a lot of money, and had them weave that cloth right away.
/Estuvieron tejiendo hasta bien entrada la noche, pero el telar seguía completamente vacío./They wove on until late into the night, but the loom remained completely empty.
The emperor sent one of his most honest ministers to look.
/El ministro miró a un lado y a otro, y no vio ninguna tela./The minister looked this way and that, and saw no cloth at all.
Zāogāo!/Pensó: “¡Qué mal!/He thought: “This is terrible!
/Si digo la verdad, el emperador seguramente pensará que soy torpe, y me destituirá de mi cargo.”/If I tell the truth, the emperor will surely think I'm foolish, and dismiss me from my post.”
So, going back, he said to the emperor: “Your Majesty, I have never seen such a beautiful cloth, you will surely love it.”
The emperor, hearing this, believed it to be true, and went with a group of ministers to look at it.
他Tā想xiǎng,”我Wǒ怎么zěnme没méi看见kànjiàn布bù呢ne?/El emperador miró una y otra vez, y no vio absolutamente nada. “¿Eh? The emperor looked and looked, and saw absolutely nothing. “Huh? What's going on here?” he thought, “why can't I see the cloth?
难道Nándào是shì我wǒ愚笨yúbèn吗ma?/¿Será que soy torpe?/Could it be that I'm foolish?
不Bù,不Bù!/¡No, no!/No, no!
/De ninguna manera puedo decir que no la veo.”/I absolutely cannot say I can't see it.”
So, he told the two swindlers that he liked this cloth very much, and that clothes made from this cloth would surely look very good.
大臣们Dàchénmen也yě纷纷fēnfēn称赞chēngzàn:“啊Ā!/Los ministros también empezaron a alabarla: “¡Ah!/The ministers also praised it one after another: “Ah!
真是zhēnshì好hǎo布bù!”/¡Qué tela tan buena!”/What fine cloth!”
Before long, the two swindlers said the cloth was already woven, and then pretended to make the clothes.
/Cuando la “ropa” estuvo lista, se presentaron ante el emperador, le ayudaron a quitarse la ropa, y fingieron ponerle la nueva./When the “clothes” were ready, they came before the emperor, helped him take off his clothes, and pretended to put the new ones on him.
At that moment, the emperor imagined with all his might, and said: “Ah! How wonderful!
这zhè衣服yīfu轻qīng得de像xiàng羽毛yǔmáo,薄báo得de像xiàng真丝zhēnsī!”/¡Esta ropa es tan ligera como una pluma, y tan fina como la seda auténtica!”/This clothing is as light as a feather, as thin as real silk!”
大臣们Dàchénmen也yě都dōu称赞chēngzàn:“多么Duōme漂亮piàoliang,多么duōme合身héshēn啊a!”/Los ministros también alabaron: “¡Qué bonita, qué bien le sienta!”/The ministers also praised it: “How beautiful, how well it fits!”
The next day, the emperor put on this “clothing” and went out into the street; the adults who saw him started cheering: “The emperor's new clothes look so nice!”
/El emperador, al oírlo, se sintió aún más orgulloso./The emperor, hearing this, became even more pleased with himself.
Huángshang!/De repente, un niño gritó en voz alta: “¡Emperador!/Suddenly, a child shouted loudly: “Your Majesty!
您Nín怎么zěnme不bù穿chuān衣服yīfu呀ya,这样zhèyàng会huì感冒gǎnmào的de!”/¿Por qué no lleva usted ropa? ¡Así va a resfriarse!”/Why aren't you wearing any clothes, you'll catch a cold like this!”
/La gente en la calle, al oírlo, se echó a reír a carcajadas./The people on the street burst out laughing when they heard this.
/El emperador también se quedó pasmado. Pensó para sus adentros: “Este niño es honesto, solo él ha dicho la verdad.”/The emperor was also stunned. He thought to himself: “This child is honest, only he has told the truth.”
/Todos finalmente supieron la verdad del asunto./Everyone finally learned the truth of the matter.
This cloth is very special: any foolish person cannot see it.
/El ministro miró a un lado y a otro, y no vio ninguna tela./The minister looked this way and that, and saw no cloth at all.
