但是dànshì,聪明cōngmíng的de,你nǐ告诉gàosu我wǒ,我们wǒmen的de日子rìzi为什么wèishénme一去yíqù不复返bùfùfǎn呢ne?/Las golondrinas se van, hay un momento en que vuelven; los sauces se secan, hay un momento en que reverdecen; las flores de durazno se marchitan, hay un momento en que vuelven a florecer./Swallows leave, there is a time when they return; willows wither, there is a time when they turn green again; peach blossoms fade, there is a time when they bloom again.
¿a dónde habrán llegado ahora?/But, you who are wise, tell me, why do our days go and never return? — did someone steal them? who could it be? and where would they hide them? or did they run away themselves? where have they gone now?
I don't know how many days they've given me; but my hands have indeed gradually become empty.
/Al calcular en silencio, más de ocho mil días ya se han deslizado de mis manos; como una gota de agua en la punta de una aguja cayendo en el mar, sin sonido, y sin sombra./Calculating silently, more than eight thousand days have already slipped from my hands; like a drop of water on a needle's point falling into the sea, without sound, and without shadow.
去的qùde尽管jǐnguǎn去了qùle,来的láide尽管jǐnguǎn来着láizhe;去qù来lái的de中间zhōngjiān,又yòu怎样地zěnyàngde匆匆cōngcōng呢ne?/Los que se han ido, se han ido de todos modos; los que vienen, siguen viniendo de todos modos; entre el ir y el venir, ¿de qué manera se apresuran?/Those that have gone, have gone regardless; those that come, keep coming regardless; between going and coming, in what way do they hurry?
/Cuando me levanto por la mañana, en mi pequeño cuarto entra el sol oblicuo./When I get up in the morning, the slanting sun shines into my small room.
/El sol tiene pies, se desplaza suave y silenciosamente; yo también giro confuso siguiéndolo./The sun has feet, it moves gently and quietly; I too spin confusedly following it.
Then — when I wash my hands, the day passes through the basin; when I eat, the day passes through the rice bowl; in silence, it passes before my fixed eyes.
I notice it going hurriedly, and when I stretch out my hand to hold it back, it slips away from the hand holding it back; when it gets dark, as I lie on the bed, it nimbly steps over my body, and flies off from my feet.
/Cuando abro los ojos y vuelvo a ver el sol, ya se ha escapado otro día./By the time I open my eyes and see the sun again, another day has already slipped away.
/Me cubro el rostro y suspiro./I cover my face and sigh.
But the shadow of new days has already begun flashing past amid my sighs.
在zài逃去táoqù如飞rúfēi的de日子里rìzilǐ,在zài千门万户qiānménwànhù的de世界shìjiè里lǐ的de我wǒ能néng做zuò些xiē什么shénme呢ne?/En estos días que huyen como volando, en este mundo de miles de puertas y hogares, ¿qué puedo hacer yo?/In these days fleeing as if flying, in this world of thousands of doors and households, what can I do?
只有zhǐyǒu徘徊páihuái罢了bàle,只有zhǐyǒu匆匆cōngcōng罢了bàle;在zài八千bāqiān多duō日的rìde匆匆cōngcōng里lǐ,除chú徘徊páihuái外wài,又yòu剩shèng些xiē什么shénme呢ne?/Solo vagar sin rumbo, solo apresurarme; en la prisa de más de ocho mil días, además de vagar sin rumbo, ¿qué más queda?/Only wander aimlessly, only hurry along; in the rush of more than eight thousand days, besides wandering aimlessly, what else remains?
过去guòqù的de日子rìzi如轻烟rúqīngyān,被bèi微风wēifēng吹散chuīsàn了le,如rú薄雾bówù,被bèi初阳chūyáng蒸融zhēngróng了le;我wǒ留着liúzhe些xiē什么shénme痕迹hénjì呢ne?/Los días pasados son como humo ligero, dispersados por la brisa; como niebla tenue, disuelta por el sol naciente; ¿qué huellas dejo?/The days gone by are like light smoke, dispersed by the breeze; like thin mist, dissolved by the morning sun; what traces do I leave?
我wǒ何曾hécéng留着liúzhe像xiàng游丝yóusī样yàng的de痕迹hénjì呢ne?/¿Acaso he dejado alguna huella como un hilo de telaraña flotante?/Have I ever left any trace like a floating gossamer thread?
我wǒ赤裸裸chìluǒluǒ来到láidào这zhè世界shìjiè,转眼间zhuǎnyǎnjiān也yě将jiāng赤裸裸chìluǒluǒ地de回去huíqù吧ba?/Vine desnudo a este mundo, y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, ¿también regresaré desnudo?/I came naked into this world, and in the blink of an eye, will I also return naked?
But why did I have to walk this path in vain?
You who are wise, tell me, why do our days go and never return?
Pedagogical Commentary: The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl: folk legend and devoted love: 1. The transparency of form: Observing 锯 (jù) or 喧 (xuān) helps connect the character's shape to its meaning, instead of memorizing it blindly. 2. The leap from character to word: These characters are rarely used alone; learning one opens the door to many new words. 3. Memory through context: Learning a character like 皱 (zhòu) together with a real sentence helps far more than memorizing its meaning in isolation.
