又yòu一次yícì把bǎ客人kèrén忘wàng了le/De nuevo olvidó al invitado/Forgot the Guest Again
/El famoso escultor francés Rodin tenía una obra escultórica llamada “El Pensador”./The famous French sculptor Rodin had a sculptural work called “The Thinker.”
The appearance of this sculpture once caused a sensation throughout the art world.
/Una vez, Rodin invitó a su buen amigo, el escritor austriaco Stefan Zweig, a ser huésped en su casa./Once, Rodin invited his good friend, the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig, to be a guest at his house.
/Después de comer, Rodin, lleno de entusiasmo, llevó a su invitado a visitar su estudio./After the meal, Rodin, full of enthusiasm, took his guest to visit his studio.
/Mientras caminaban, Rodin le explicaba a Zweig sus obras y el proceso de su creación./As they walked, Rodin explained to Zweig his works and the process of their creation.
They arrived before a just-finished statue, Rodin lifted the damp cloth covering it, and a dignified female statue stood erect before them.
After examining it carefully, Zweig couldn't help clapping and praising it, warmly putting his arm around Rodin's shoulders to congratulate him.
/Rodin al principio también estaba contento, pero pronto empezó a fruncir el ceño lentamente, y su boca se tensó./Rodin was happy at first too, but soon slowly began to frown, and the corners of his mouth tightened.
/Meneando la cabeza, dijo: “Esta estatua todavía no está bien, tiene un defecto, el hombro izquierdo está un poco torcido, y la expresión del rostro aún no es suficiente./Shaking his head, he said: “This statue isn't right yet, there's still a flaw, the left shoulder is a bit off, and the facial expression isn't quite enough.
/Ah, perdón, espérame un momento.”/Oh, excuse me, wait for me a moment.”
/Dicho esto, tomó su espátula y empezó a corregir la estatua./Having said this, he picked up his sculpting knife and began revising the statue.
/Zweig, temiendo molestar a Rodin, se retiró silenciosamente a un lado./Zweig, afraid of disturbing Rodin, quietly withdrew to one side.
/Solo vio a Rodin acercarse a corregir con el cuchillo, luego retroceder para observar atentamente, murmurando frases inconexas, como si conversara con la estatua./He only saw Rodin step forward to revise with the knife, then step back to observe carefully, muttering incoherent words, as if conversing with the statue.
/A veces, la boca de Rodin dejaba escapar fuertes sonidos de “hmm hmm”, “ah ah”, y sus ojos brillaban de forma extraña, como si estuviera discutiendo acaloradamente con alguien./Sometimes, Rodin's mouth would let out loud “hmm hmm”, “ah ah” sounds, his eyes flashing with a strange light, as if he were arguing fiercely with someone.
他tā一会儿yíhuìr进jìn,一会儿yíhuìr退tuì,把bǎ地板dìbǎn踩cǎi得de“嘎嘎gāgā”直响zhíxiǎng,手shǒu不时bùshí地de举起jǔqǐ抹刀mǒdāo挥舞huīwǔ……/Avanzaba y retrocedía sin parar, haciendo crujir el suelo “crac crac”, y de vez en cuando levantaba la espátula agitándola.../He moved forward and back, making the floor creak “crack crack,” and from time to time raised his knife, waving it around...
Time passed slowly, Rodin's movements became increasingly forceful, his mood increasingly excited.
His face, flushed with excitement, turned completely red, as if he were drunk.
The world no longer existed before his eyes, he saw only this statue.
/Rodin corrigió la estatua durante más de una hora, y luego sonrió embelesado ante ella, exhaló suavemente, y volvió a tomar el paño húmedo para cubrirla./Rodin revised the statue for a full hour or more, then smiled at it in a daze, let out a soft sigh, and picked up the damp cloth again to cover the statue.
/Zweig, al ver que su viejo amigo había terminado de corregir y su ánimo ya se había calmado, se acercó, dispuesto a conversar con Rodin./Zweig, seeing that his old friend had finished revising and had calmed down, stepped forward, ready to talk with Rodin.
/Pero para su sorpresa, Rodin se sacudió el barro de las manos, sumido en sus pensamientos, y se fue como si no hubiera nadie más./Unexpectedly, Rodin patted the clay off his hands, lost in thought, and walked off as if no one else were there.
/Al salir por la puerta, Rodin cerró la puerta de forma casual y se disponía a echarle llave./Going out the door, Rodin casually pulled the door shut and prepared to lock it.
¿Qué te pasa?/Zweig, still inside the studio, then understood that his old friend's mind had been completely occupied by the statue, and he had forgotten Zweig's presence, so he quickly shouted loudly: “Hey, my friend, what's wrong with you?
我wǒ还hái在zài屋子wūzi里li呀ya!”/¡Yo todavía estoy en la habitación!”/I'm still in the room!”
罗丹Luódān猛然měngrán听到tīngdào屋子wūzi里li有yǒu人rén喊hǎn,这zhè才cái想起xiǎngqǐ他tā的de老lǎo朋友péngyou,赶紧gǎnjǐn把bǎ门mén推开tuīkāi,紧跑jǐnpǎo几jǐ步bù,抓住zhuāzhù茨威格Cíwēigé的de手shǒu,非常fēicháng抱歉bàoqiàn地de说shuō:“哎哟āiyō!/Rodin, al oír de repente a alguien gritar en la habitación, recordó a su viejo amigo, abrió la puerta a toda prisa, corrió unos pasos, tomó la mano de Zweig y dijo, muy apenado: “¡Ay!/Rodin, suddenly hearing someone shout in the room, then remembered his old friend, quickly pushed the door open, ran a few steps, grabbed Zweig's hand, and said very apologetically: “Oh my!
/Mira, prácticamente te olvidé, lo siento mucho, por favor no te ofendas.”/Look at me, I practically forgot you, I'm so sorry, please don't take offense.”
/Zweig, al oír las sinceras palabras de Rodin, dijo emocionado: “No pasa nada, no pasa nada./Zweig, hearing Rodin's sincere words, said with emotion: “It's alright, it's alright.
You've taught me how one should properly do the things one needs to do.”

/Mark Twain salió a tomar el tren./Mark Twain went out to take a train.
When the conductor checked tickets, he searched through every pocket, but couldn't find his ticket.
/Casualmente, el revisor lo conocía, así que consoló a Mark Twain diciéndole: “No importa, si de verdad no encuentra su billete, no pasa nada.”/It happened that the conductor recognized him, so he consoled Mark Twain: “It's alright, if you really can't find your ticket, it doesn't matter.”
¿Cómo que no pasa nada? Debo encontrar ese maldito billete, si no, ¿cómo voy a saber a dónde tengo que ir?”/“Ugh!
