Fǎnlǎohuántóng/Rejuvenecer volviendo a la infancia/Returning to Youth
/Cuenta la leyenda que Liu An, el rey de Huainan en la dinastía Han de China, gustaba de buscar a los inmortales, y buscaba por todas partes técnicas mágicas para la inmortalidad./Legend has it that Liu An, King of Huainan in China's Han dynasty, loved seeking out immortal spirits, and searched everywhere for magical techniques for eternal life.
But no matter how far and wide he searched, he could never get his wish.
An./One day, eight old men arrived outside the city, asking to see Liu An.
The gatekeeper went in and reported to Liu An: “Eight old men have come outside the city, asking to see you.
They say they can grant you eternal life.”
刘安Liú Ān听了tīngle,摇摇头yáoyaotóu说shuō:“别Bié听tīng他们tāmen胡说húshuō!/Liu An, al oírlo, negó con la cabeza y dijo: “¡No hagas caso de sus tonterías!/Liu An, hearing this, shook his head and said: “Don't listen to their nonsense!
要yào真zhēn能néng返老还童fǎnlǎohuántóng,他们Tāmen怎么zěnme还是háishi老头子lǎotóuzi?”/Si realmente pudieran rejuvenecer hasta volver a ser niños, ¿por qué siguen siendo unos viejos?”/If they could really turn back the years and become children again, why are they still old men?”
The eight old men, hearing this, walked up smiling to Liu An, and said: “Making you believe that we can turn back the years and become children again isn't difficult at all.”
/Dicho esto, dieron una voltereta en el suelo, y al levantarse, efectivamente se habían convertido todos en niños inocentes y llenos de vida./Having said this, they rolled over on the ground, and upon standing back up, had indeed all transformed into innocent, lively children.
/Más tarde, la gente empezó a usar “rejuvenecer volviendo a la infancia” para describir a los ancianos que parecen hacerse cada vez más jóvenes./Later, people began using “returning to youth” to describe elderly people who seem to grow younger and younger.

In China's Spring and Autumn period, there was a man from the state of Chu named Lord Ye, who claimed he had loved dragons since birth.
So, the bowl and chopsticks he ate with all had dragons painted on them, the bedsheets, quilt, and pillow he slept with were also painted with dragons, and even the doors, windows, and beams of the house he lived in were carved with dragons... in short, all sorts of dragons could be seen everywhere in his house.
/También solía contarles historias de dragones a sus vecinos y amigos./He also often told stories about dragons to his neighbors and friends.
大家Dàjiā问wèn他tā:“你Nǐ见过jiànguo真的zhēnde龙lóng吗ma?”/La gente le preguntaba: “¿Has visto alguna vez un dragón de verdad?”/People asked him: “Have you ever seen a real dragon?”
他Tā说shuō:“当然Dāngrán见过jiànguo!”/Él decía: “¡Claro que sí!”/He said: “Of course I have!”
The real dragon from heaven, hearing that Lord Ye loved him so much, came down from heaven to the human world, wanting to meet Lord Ye.
/Pero, para su sorpresa, en cuanto Ye Gong vio al dragón de verdad, se asustó tanto que se puso a esconderse por todas partes./Unexpectedly, as soon as Lord Ye saw the real dragon, he was so frightened that he hid everywhere.
/Más tarde, la gente empezó a usar el modismo “a Ye Gong le encantan los dragones” para burlarse de aquellos que dicen que les gusta algo, pero en realidad no les gusta de verdad./Later, people began using the idiom “Lord Ye's love of dragons” to mock those who say they like something but in reality don't really like it at all.

The Fox Exploits the Tiger's Might
Cada día caza otros animales para comer./In the dense forest, the tiger is the fiercest beast, known as the king of the forest. Every day it hunts other animals to eat.
¿Te atreves a comerme? El Emperador Celestial me envió aquí para ser el rey de las cien bestias; si me comes, ¡el Emperador Celestial te castigará!”/One day, the tiger was hungry, and looked everywhere for something to eat. As it walked through the forest searching, it came across a fox. The tiger immediately pounced and caught the fox. Just as it was about to open its mouth to eat it, the cunning fox rolled its eyes, and shouted loudly: “Wait! How dare you eat me? The Heavenly Emperor sent me here to be king of all the beasts; if you eat me, the Heavenly Emperor will punish you!”
The tiger, half believing and half doubting, slowly loosened its claws. The fox, wagging its tail, said proudly: “If you don't believe me, follow behind me; no matter where I go, the birds and beasts that see me will have to flee.”
Todos huyeron corriendo a toda velocidad, asustadísimos./The fox walked in front, swaying its head and tail with a self-satisfied air, and the tiger followed close behind. The animals, seeing the fox looking so smug and self-important, found it very strange, and when they looked behind the fox, oh no, a tiger! They all fled running as fast as they could, terrified.
The animals were clearly afraid of the tiger, not the fox, but the fox, borrowing the tiger's intimidating power, scared the animals into running away.
