A crow had a piece of meat in its beak, and flew to a tree, where a fox saw it.
The fox thought: “That piece of meat in the crow's beak looks so good!
/Tengo que conseguirla como sea.'/I must get my hands on it.”
于是Yúshì,狐狸húli跑到pǎodào树下shùxià,抬起táiqǐ头来tóulái,赞美道zànměidào:“乌鸦Wūyā太太tàitai,你Nǐ真zhēn美měi呀ya!/Entonces, la zorra corrió hasta debajo del árbol, levantó la cabeza, y le dijo halagadoramente: '¡Señora cuervo, qué guapa es usted!/So, the fox ran under the tree, raised her head, and praised: “Mrs. Crow, how beautiful you are!
你Nǐ的de眼睛yǎnjing那么nàme明亮míngliàng,羽毛yǔmáo那么nàme整齐zhěngqí,身材shēncái那么nàme好看hǎokàn!/Sus ojos son tan brillantes, sus plumas tan ordenadas, su figura tan bonita!/Your eyes are so bright, your feathers so neat, your figure so lovely!
I'm sure your singing voice is also very pleasant.”
The crow, hearing the fox's flattery, felt very pleased with herself, and opened her beak to sing.
/Pero en cuanto abrió la boca, la carne se le cayó./But as soon as she opened her mouth, the meat fell down.
/La zorra abrió rápidamente la boca, atrapó la carne que caía, se la tragó, y luego dijo: 'Gracias, querida señora cuervo./The fox quickly opened her mouth wide, caught the falling meat, swallowed it into her belly, and then said: “Thank you, dear Mrs. Crow.
其实Qíshí你Nǐ长得zhǎngdé并bìng不bù美měi,你Nǐ的de歌声gēshēng也yě并bìng不bù好听hǎotīng,不过Búguò,这块zhèkuài肉ròu倒是dàoshì很hěn好吃hǎochī!”/La verdad es que usted no es tan guapa, y su canto tampoco es tan bonito, pero esta carne sí que está muy rica.'/Actually you're not that beautiful, and your singing isn't nice either, but this piece of meat is really delicious!”

Pedagogical Commentary: The fox and the grapes: rationalization and emotional expression: 1. The transparency of form: Observing 渴 (kě) or 架 (jià) helps connect the character's shape to its meaning, instead of memorizing it blindly. 2. The leap from character to word: These characters are rarely used alone; learning one opens the door to many new words. 3. Memory through context: Learning a character like 哈 (hā) together with a real sentence helps far more than memorizing its meaning in isolation.
