从前Cóngqián，有个yǒu ge人rén养了yǎngle十几只shíjǐ zhī羊yáng。/Hace mucho tiempo, había una persona que criaba más de diez ovejas./Long ago, there was a person who raised more than ten sheep.
一天早上Yìtiān zǎoshang，他tā发现fāxiàn少了shǎole一只yìzhī羊yáng。/Una mañana, se dio cuenta de que le faltaba una oveja./One morning, he discovered that one sheep was missing.
原来Yuánlái关guān羊yáng的de屋子wūzi破了pòle一个yíge洞dòng，他tā没有méiyǒu及时jíshí修补xiūbǔ，羊yáng从cóng这个zhège洞dòng钻出去zuānchūqù跑掉了pǎodiàole。/Resulta que el establo donde se guardaban las ovejas tenía un agujero, y como él no lo reparó a tiempo, una oveja se escapó por ese agujero./It turned out that the shed where the sheep were kept had a hole in it, and since he didn't repair it in time, a sheep escaped through the hole.
邻居Línjū劝quàn他tā说shuō：“赶快Gǎnkuài把bǎ洞dòng补一补bǔyibǔ吧ba。”/El vecino le aconsejó: “Rápido, repara el agujero.”/The neighbor advised him: “Quick, patch up the hole.”
他Tā说shuō：“反正Fǎnzhèng羊yáng已经yǐjīng跑掉了pǎodiàole，补bǔ洞dòng有yǒu什么shénme用yòng呢ne？”/Él dijo: “De todos modos la oveja ya se escapó, ¿de qué sirve reparar el agujero?”/He said: “The sheep has already run off anyway, what's the use of patching the hole?”
第二天早上Dì-èr tiān zǎoshang，这个zhège人rén又yòu发现fāxiàn少了shǎole一只yìzhī羊yáng。/A la mañana siguiente, esta persona de nuevo se dio cuenta de que le faltaba una oveja./The next morning, this person again discovered that one sheep was missing.
羊Yáng还是háishi从cóng那个nàge洞dòng钻出去zuānchūqù跑掉的pǎodiàode。/La oveja se había escapado otra vez por ese mismo agujero./The sheep had again escaped through that same hole.
这时Zhèshí，他tā才cái明白míngbai邻居línjū讲jiǎng的de话huà有yǒu道理dàolǐ，于是yúshì赶快gǎnkuài把bǎ洞dòng补好了bǔhǎole。/En ese momento, por fin entendió que lo que decía el vecino tenía razón, así que enseguida reparó el agujero./At that moment, he finally understood that what the neighbor said made sense, so he quickly patched the hole.
从此Cóngcǐ，他tā的de羊yáng再也zàiyě没有méiyǒu丢diū。/Desde entonces, nunca más perdió una oveja./From then on, he never lost a sheep again.
这Zhè就是jiùshì“亡羊补牢wángyángbǔláo，为时未晚wéishíwèiwǎn”。/Esto es lo que significa “reparar el redil después de perder la oveja, nunca es tarde”./This is what “mend the fold after the sheep is lost, it's never too late” means.

古时候Gǔshíhou有yǒu个ge农民nóngmín，他tā日夜rìyè盼望pànwàng自己zìjǐ种zhòng的de秧苗yāngmiáo长得zhǎngde又yòu快kuài又yòu高gāo。/En la antigüedad había un campesino que día y noche anhelaba que las plántulas que había sembrado crecieran rápido y altas./In ancient times there was a farmer who day and night longed for the seedlings he had planted to grow fast and tall.
因此Yīncǐ，他tā天天tiāntiān去qù田里tiánlǐ看kàn，总zǒng觉得juéde秧苗yāngmiáo长得zhǎngde太tài慢màn。/Por eso, iba al campo todos los días a mirar, y siempre sentía que las plántulas crecían demasiado lento./So he went to look at the field every day, always feeling that the seedlings grew too slowly.
有一天Yǒu yìtiān，他tā又yòu来到láidào田里tiánlǐ，忽然hūrán想出了xiǎngchūle一个yíge办法bànfǎ：/Un día, volvió al campo, y de repente se le ocurrió una idea:/One day, he went to the field again, and suddenly came up with an idea:
“我Wǒ为什么wèishénme不bù把bǎ秧苗yāngmiáo拔高bágāo一些yìxiē，帮助bāngzhù它们tāmen长得zhǎngde快kuài一点儿yìdiǎnr呢ne？”/“¿Por qué no levanto un poco las plántulas para ayudarlas a crecer más rápido?”/“Why don't I pull the seedlings up a bit to help them grow faster?”
于是Yúshì，他tā下到xiàdào田里tiánlǐ，把bǎ每棵měikē秧苗yāngmiáo都dōu拔高了bágāole。/Entonces, bajó al campo y levantó cada una de las plántulas./So he went down into the field and pulled up every single seedling.
看着Kànzhe拔高了bágāole的de秧苗yāngmiáo，他tā心里xīnlǐ很hěn得意déyì，唱着chàngzhe歌gē回家huíjiā去了qùle。/Mirando las plántulas que había levantado, se sintió muy satisfecho, y volvió a casa cantando./Looking at the seedlings he had pulled up, he felt very pleased with himself, and went home singing.
结果Jiéguǒ，过了guòle几天jǐtiān，拔高的bágāo de秧苗yāngmiáo全quán死了sǐle。/Como resultado, después de unos días, todas las plántulas levantadas se murieron./As a result, after a few days, all the pulled-up seedlings died.
