墨西哥的Mòxīgēde金字塔jīnzìtǎ/Las pirámides de México/The Pyramids of Mexico
At the ruins of an ancient city 40 kilometers northeast of Mexico City, there are two world-famous pyramids — the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon.
They are not mausoleums of ancient rulers, but altars that the ancient indigenous peoples used for offering sacrifices to the gods.
The Pyramid of the Sun was built in the 2nd century AD, it faces east from the west, with a height of 65 meters, the tower's base is 225 meters long, 222 meters wide, with a volume of 1 million cubic meters, divided into 5 levels, from the lowest level to the top of the tower there are 236 stone steps.
/En la cima de la torre hay un templo dorado y espléndido./Atop the tower there is a golden, splendid temple.
/Cada mediodía, la luz del sol puede iluminar toda la torre; por la tarde, el sol se pone justo enfrente de la torre./Every noon, the sunlight can illuminate the whole tower; in the afternoon, the sun sets just opposite the tower.
In the temple there is a huge statue of the Sun God, facing east, with countless gold and silver ornaments hanging in front of its chest, every time sunlight enters the temple, the Sun God statue shines with a mysterious radiance, inspiring great reverence.
/En aquel tiempo, los antiguos indígenas celebraban aquí ceremonias de adoración al dios Sol./In those days, the ancient indigenous people held ceremonies here worshipping the Sun God.
/La Pirámide de la Luna es de forma similar a la Pirámide del Sol, pero un poco más pequeña./The Pyramid of the Moon is similar in shape to the Pyramid of the Sun, but a bit smaller.
It is 1000 meters from the Pyramid of the Sun, and was built 200 years after the Pyramid of the Sun.
It faces south from the north, the base is 150 meters long, 120 meters wide, with a height of 43 meters, also divided into 5 levels, showing exquisite elegance. Although not as tall as the Pyramid of the Sun, since its foundation is higher than the Pyramid of the Sun's foundation, the top of its tower is exactly at the same level as the top of the Pyramid of the Sun.
In front of the Pyramid of the Moon there is a plaza that can hold tens of thousands of people, it's not hard to imagine the scale and grandeur of the sacrificial activities of that era.
The Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon are made of huge stone blocks, on which are painted colorful, varied murals.
When night falls, the colored lights atop the tower all light up, various colored lights shine onto the pyramids, accompanied by melodious indigenous music, making people inevitably feel nostalgia for the past.
古Gǔ印第安人Yìndì'ānrén为什么wèishénme要yào在zài这儿建zhèrjiàn金jīn字塔呢zìtǎne?/¿Por qué los antiguos indígenas construyeron pirámides aquí?/Why did the ancient indigenous peoples build pyramids here?
It is said that in ancient times the earth had four suns, three of which were destroyed one after another.
After humans appeared, the fourth sun also went out, and the earth was in complete darkness.
/Al ver esta situación, muchos dioses se reunieron para buscar una solución./Seeing this situation, many gods gathered together to find a solution.
Both the wealthiest god and the poorest god expressed their willingness to throw themselves into the fire, becoming glowing celestial bodies, so that humanity could regain light.
But facing the blazing fire, the poor god bravely leaped in, and immediately a red sun rose from the east; while the rich god got cold feet, and only jumped in when the fire was about to go out, so what appeared on the horizon was the dim moon.
/Después, la gente construyó la Pirámide del Sol y la Pirámide de la Luna, y a menudo celebraba ceremonias de adoración al cielo en las torres, rogando que el sol y la luna brillaran para siempre./Later, people built the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, and often held sky-worship ceremonies atop the towers, praying that the sun and moon would shine forever.
