长江起源的Chángjiāngqǐyuánde故事gùshi/La historia del origen del río Yangtsé/The Story of the Origin of the Yangtze River
The ten-thousand-li Yangtze, like a great silvery-white dragon, lies stretched across China's vast land.
/El Yangtsé es el símbolo de China, es el orgullo de la nación china./The Yangtze is the symbol of China, the pride of the Chinese nation.
Whether in length, water volume, or drainage basin area, the Yangtze ranks first among China's rivers.
/Es el río más grande de China, el tercer río más grande del mundo./It is China's largest river, the world's third largest river.
The Yangtze has a total length of about 6300 kilometers, originating on the southwestern side of Geladandong, the main peak of the Tanggula Mountains in Qinghai Province, China, and its source is the Tuotuo River.
It emerges from among the glaciers, like a great silver dragon, racing swiftly eastward.
Dōnghǎi。/A veces serpentea entre las montañas nevadas escarpadas, a veces rueda por profundos desfiladeros, y finalmente con la fuerza de un trueno atronador, se precipita a lo largo de mil li, fluyendo majestuosamente hacia el Mar Oriental./Sometimes it winds among the towering snowy mountains, sometimes it tumbles through deep gorges, and finally with the force of a mighty thunderclap, rushes forth for a thousand li, flowing majestically into the East Sea.
The glaciers accumulated over thousands of years in the snowy mountain ranges melt into countless gently flowing streams, providing an ample water source for the Yangtze.
Among the world's famous rivers, only the Yangtze has a source that is such a magnificent, grand glacial river.
The Naxi people of Yunnan, living along the Jinsha River, the upper reaches of the Yangtze, have a legend about the origin of the Yangtze.
Long, long ago, at the foot of Mount Tanggula in Qinghai, there lived an old man and a young girl.
/Al anciano la gente lo llamaba Abuelo Dragón de Jade, y a la niña la llamaban Doncella Arena Dorada./People called the old man Grandpa Jade Dragon, and the girl was called Maiden Golden Sand.
/Estos vecinos, en armonía, vivían felices. El Abuelo Dragón de Jade, de cabello completamente blanco, disfrutaba escuchar a la Doncella Arena Dorada cantar, y la Doncella Arena Dorada disfrutaba escuchar al Abuelo Dragón de Jade contar historias./These neighbors, living in harmony, led a happy life. Grandpa Jade Dragon, with hair all white, enjoyed listening to Maiden Golden Sand sing, and Maiden Golden Sand enjoyed listening to Grandpa Jade Dragon tell stories.
They laughed and talked together, as close as one family.
/Un día, la Doncella Arena Dorada de nuevo pidió al Abuelo Dragón de Jade que le contara una historia./One day, Maiden Golden Sand again asked Grandpa Jade Dragon to tell her a story.
I'll tell you the story of the prince of the East Sea Dragon King.
In the place where the sun rises, there is an East Sea, and in the East Sea there is a Crystal Palace, where lives a kind, handsome, young prince.
He found that the fairies born in the sea water had violent temperaments, so he had never found his ideal beloved.
The prince often left the Crystal Palace, to wander along the coast, hoping to find a gentle-natured, young and beautiful girl, but such a girl never appeared.
/El príncipe pensaba en ello día y noche, y finalmente cayó enfermo.”/The prince thought about it day and night, and finally fell ill.”
金沙Jīnshā姑娘听到这里gūniangtīngdàozhèlǐ,很hěn同情tóngqíng那个nàge王子wángzǐ,便biàn问wèn:“怎样才能治好zěnyàngcáinéngzhìhǎo王子的wángzǐde病呢bìngne?”/Al oír esto, la Doncella Arena Dorada sintió mucha compasión por aquel príncipe, y preguntó: “¿Cómo se podría curar la enfermedad del príncipe?”/Hearing this, Maiden Golden Sand felt great sympathy for that prince, and asked: “How could the prince's illness be cured?”
If a gentle, beautiful girl went to the East Sea, the prince's illness would be cured.”
/La historia del Abuelo Dragón de Jade despertó la compasión y el amor de la Doncella Arena Dorada, ella pensó un momento, y se puso de pie diciendo: “Iré al Mar del Este.”/Grandpa Jade Dragon's story awakened Maiden Golden Sand's sympathy and love, she thought for a moment, and stood up saying: “I will go to the East Sea.”
玉龙yùlóng爷爷听了yéyetīngle吓了xiàle一跳yítiào,说shuō:“东海Dōnghǎi离lí这儿有zhèryǒu一yí万多里wànduōlǐ,你怎能走这么nǐzěnnéngzǒuzhème远的yuǎnde路程呢lùchéngne?”/El Abuelo Dragón de Jade se asustó al oírlo, y dijo: “El Mar del Este está a más de diez mil li de aquí, ¿cómo podrías caminar tan lejos?”/Grandpa Jade Dragon was startled hearing this, and said: “The East Sea is more than ten thousand li from here, how could you walk such a long way?”
/La Doncella Arena Dorada dijo: “No temo el largo camino.”/Maiden Golden Sand said: “I'm not afraid of the long journey.”
/El anciano, viendo que su decisión ya estaba tomada, dijo: “Bien, te acompañaré.”/The old man, seeing her mind was made up, said: “Alright, I'll go with you.”
/Y así, el anciano y la niña se pusieron en camino./And so, the old man and the girl set off on their journey.
They passed through the old town of Yulong, left Qinghai territory, and continued walking south for several days, the old man was truly tired, and sat down to rest.
It turned out that as soon as he sat down he fell asleep, and Maiden Golden Sand, no matter how she pushed him, couldn't wake him.
/La muchacha pensó, el abuelo está demasiado cansado, dejémoslo dormir, y luego se dirigió sola hacia el Mar del Este./The girl thought, grandpa is too tired, let him sleep, and then she headed alone towards the East Sea.
/La Doncella Arena Dorada, tras sufrir mil penurias, finalmente llegó al Mar del Este, se encontró con el príncipe del Mar del Este, y se casó felizmente./Maiden Golden Sand, after enduring a thousand hardships, finally reached the East Sea, met the East Sea prince, and happily married.
The path Maiden Golden Sand walked became the present-day Yangtze River; and Grandpa Jade Dragon, to this day still hasn't woken up, became the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain we see today.
