Tàiláishā/La “gigante” pequeña Taleisha/The “Giant” Little Taleisha
/Érase una vez, en un pequeño pueblo de montaña, vivía una niña inteligente./Once upon a time, in a small mountain village, there lived a clever little girl.
She was very small in stature, just like a toy doll, and everyone called her little Taleisha.
/Vivía felizmente junto a su papá, mamá, abuela y hermanito./She lived happily together with her father, mother, grandmother, and younger brother.
/Un año, este país estalló en guerra, y el papá de la pequeña Taleisha fue a combatir, y murió en el campo de batalla./One year, this country erupted into war, and little Taleisha's father went to fight, and died on the battlefield.
/Ella quedó desconsolada, y desde entonces nunca más volvió a crecer./She was heartbroken, and from then on never grew taller again.
/Sus amigas se convirtieron en grandes muchachas, pero ella seguía siendo tan pequeña./Her friends grew into grown girls, but she remained just as small.
/Después, la mamá, debido a la tristeza y el cansancio, enfermó gravemente, y fue internada en el hospital, y todas las tareas del hogar recayeron sobre la abuela./Later, mom, due to sadness and exhaustion, fell seriously ill, and was admitted to the hospital, and all the household chores fell upon grandmother.
小泰莱莎xiǎoTàiláishā多么duōme想xiǎng帮bāng奶奶nǎinai的de忙máng啊a!/¡Cuánto quería la pequeña Taleisha ayudar a su abuela!/How much little Taleisha wanted to help grandmother!
/Intentó cargar agua, pero no podía levantarla; intentó cargar leña, pero terminó cayéndose./She tried to carry water, but couldn't lift it; she tried to carry firewood, but ended up falling down.
/La pequeña Taleisha dijo: “Déjame crecer un poco, solo para poder ayudar a la abuela con las tareas.”/Little Taleisha said: “Let me grow a little taller, just enough to help grandmother with the chores.”
And strangely enough, she really did grow a bit, just enough to help grandmother fetch water and carry firewood.
/Después, la abuela falleció, pero la mamá todavía estaba en el hospital, y todas las tareas del hogar recayeron sobre la pequeña Taleisha./Later, grandmother passed away, but mom was still in the hospital, and all the household tasks fell upon little Taleisha.
/Cada día tenía que cocinar, lavar ropa, limpiar la casa, alimentar a las vacas y gallinas, y llevar a su hermanito a la escuela./Every day she had to cook, wash clothes, clean the house, feed the cows and chickens, and take her little brother to school.
/Después de un día así, estaba muy cansada y somnolienta./After such a day, she was very tired and sleepy.
小xiǎo泰莱莎说Tàiláishāshuō:“看来kànlái,我还得wǒháiděi再zài长大一点儿zhǎngdàyìdiǎnr,要yào不bù,怎么能zěnmenéng照顾弟弟呢zhàogùdìdine?”/La pequeña Taleisha dijo: “Parece que necesito crecer un poco más, si no, ¿cómo podré cuidar a mi hermanito?”/Little Taleisha said: “It seems I need to grow a bit more, otherwise, how can I take care of my little brother?”
As soon as she finished speaking, she grew a bit taller again, almost as tall as her friends.
/La mamá regresó del hospital, y al ver la casa ordenada, todo en su lugar, y a la pequeña Taleisha ya crecida, alta y grande, casi irreconocible, se puso muy contenta./Mom came back from the hospital, and seeing the house all in order, everything neat and tidy, and little Taleisha already grown tall and big, almost unrecognizable, she was very happy.
After mom recovered, little Taleisha's chores lightened up a bit, and she went to help an old lady with no family.
The villagers praised her for loving to help others.
/Un día, un bandido bajó de la montaña con un arma, irrumpió en el pueblo, y obligó a los aldeanos a entregar oro y tesoros./One day, a bandit came down from the mountain with a gun, burst into the village, and forced the villagers to hand over gold and silver treasures.
At that time, no one in the village dared to resist, and everyone had to hand over their gold rings, gold earrings, gold necklaces and other valuables.
Tàiláishāyòuqìyòují。/La pequeña Taleisha estaba enfadada y ansiosa./Little Taleisha was angry and anxious.
She ran home, stood in front of the mirror, and shouted loudly: “I need to grow taller, become a giant, to deal with that bandit!”
/Apenas terminó de hablar, creció rápidamente hasta tocar el techo./As soon as she finished speaking, she grew rapidly, reaching all the way up to the ceiling.
She felt she still wasn't tall enough, and ran to the yard to keep growing, until she grew as tall as the bell tower.
/Entonces se sintió satisfecha, y se dispuso a enfrentar al bandido./Then she felt satisfied, and set off to deal with the bandit.
/La pequeña Taleisha llegó a la plaza, y caminó a grandes zancadas hacia el bandido./Little Taleisha arrived at the square, and strode towards the bandit.
/El bandido, al ver venir a una gigante, asustado soltó el arma y salió corriendo./The bandit, seeing a giant coming, dropped his gun in panic and ran for his life.
Little Taleisha only took a few steps forward, and with one grab seized the bandit by the neck, then placed him atop the tall bell tower.
The bandit, terrified, fell from atop the bell tower, and died from the fall.
/La gente del pueblo, al ver muerto al bandido, agradeció profusamente a la pequeña Taleisha./The villagers, seeing the bandit dead, thanked little Taleisha profusely.
她说tāshuō:“这一次zhèyícì我长得wǒzhǎngde太高了tàigāole,可有什么kěyǒushénme办法呢bànfane?/Ella dijo: “Esta vez crecí demasiado alta, pero ¿qué se le va a hacer?/She said: “This time I grew too tall, but what could I do?
我总不能wǒzǒngbùnéng眼看着yǎnkànzhe强盗干坏事qiángdàogànhuàishì啊a!”/¡No podía quedarme mirando cómo el bandido hacía maldades!”/I couldn't just stand by watching the bandit do evil!”
/Dicho esto, se dio la vuelta y se fue a casa./Having said this, she turned and went home.
/Ocurrió algo extraño./Something strange happened.
With every step little Taleisha took, her stature shrank a bit, until it stopped when she reached an average height.
/Desde entonces, Taleisha se convirtió en la muchacha más hermosa del pueblo./From then on, Taleisha became the most beautiful girl in the village.
