四sì季jì的de风fēng/El viento de las cuatro estaciones/The Wind of the Four Seasons
Long, long ago, there was a poor child, who from a very young age had lost his father and mother.
He often felt very lonely, because he lived alone in a small thatched hut in the wilderness, with no one to play with him, no one to talk to him, he only had one strange friend who was very close to him, this friend was the wind.
The wind liked him very much, and whenever it passed by this little hut, it would always slip inside to chat with him a bit, play for a while, and also bring him some food.
/Precisamente gracias a esto, el pobre niño pudo sobrevivir solo en la pequeña choza en el páramo./Precisely relying on this, the poor child was able to survive alone in the little hut in the wilderness.
/En primavera, el niño desdichado enfermó, y estuvo acostado en su pequeña cama sin poder levantarse durante más de diez días./In spring, the poor child fell ill, and lay in his small bed unable to get up for more than ten days.
/Un día, llegó el viento./One day, the wind came.
/Al saber que estaba enfermo, el viento se sentó junto a la cama y lo acompañó, hablándole suavemente, mientras le acariciaba suavemente el cabello, y también le dio la noticia de que la primavera ya había llegado./Knowing he was sick, the wind sat by the bed and kept him company, gently talking with him, while gently stroking his hair, and also told him the news that spring had already arrived.
苦kǔ孩子háizi多么向往duōmexiàngwǎng春天chūntiān啊a!/¡Cuánto anhelaba el niño desdichado la primavera!/How the poor child longed for spring!
/Quería ir a jugar al campo, escuchar el canto de los pajaritos, pero no podía caminar./He wanted to go play outdoors, to listen to the birds singing, but he couldn't walk.
风就安慰fēngjiù'ānwèi他说tāshuō:“好hǎo孩子háizi,不要búyào难过nánguò!/El viento lo consoló diciéndole: “Buen niño, ¡no te aflijas!/The wind comforted him, saying: “Good child, don't be sad!
I can find a way for you, so you can also enjoy the joys of spring inside your house.”
/Dicho esto, el viento se dio la vuelta y salió./Having said this, the wind turned and went out.
After a while, the wind returned, bringing back what the poor child longed for in his heart: the fragrance of various flowers, the scent of fresh grass, and the sound of various birds singing.
/El niño desdichado dijo: “De verdad, la primavera ha llegado.”/The poor child said: “Really, spring has come.”
/Llegó el verano, y la enfermedad del niño desdichado aún no había mejorado./Summer arrived, and the poor child's illness still hadn't improved.
/Un día, el viento volvió a visitarlo./One day, the wind came to see him again.
苦kǔ孩子说háizishuō:“好hǎo朋友péngyou,给gěi我wǒ弄nòng一个yíge水果shuǐguǒ来lái吧ba!/El niño desdichado dijo: “Buen amigo, ¡tráeme una fruta!/The poor child said: “Good friend, get me a piece of fruit!
El viento, al oírlo, asintió con la cabeza, se dio la vuelta y salió volando./If I could eat a piece of fruit now, my illness would get better.” The wind, hearing this, nodded, turned and flew off.
The wind flew over several orchards in a row, but all those orchards had people watching over them, so it couldn't pick a single fruit.
/Al final, solo en una ladera consiguió de un albaricoquero silvestre un albaricoque pequeño y agrio./In the end, only on a hillside did it get a small, sour apricot from a wild apricot tree.
/Cuando el viento regresó a la choza, el niño desdichado ya estaba medio dormido./When the wind flew back to the hut, the poor child was already half asleep.
/El viento lo despertó suavemente, y le entregó el albaricoque./The wind gently woke him, and handed him the apricot.
He opened his eyes, looked at the apricot, shook his head and closed his eyes again.
/Su enfermedad ya se había agravado, no podía comer nada./His illness had already worsened, he couldn't eat anything.
/El viento se sintió muy triste, y al salir volando de la choza, no pudo evitar echarse a llorar./The wind felt very sad, and as it flew out of the hut, it couldn't help crying.
/Llegó el otoño, y la enfermedad del niño desdichado empeoró aún más./Autumn arrived, and the poor child's illness worsened further.
/Un día, el viento volvió a visitarlo./One day, the wind came to see him again.
/El niño desdichado le dijo al viento: “Buen amigo, ya llevo acostado tanto tiempo, de verdad quiero salir a jugar.”/The poor child said to the wind: “Good friend, I've been lying down for so long now, I really want to go out and play.”
风说fēngshuō:“是啊shì'a,但dàn是shì你的nǐde腿没有力气tuǐméiyǒulìqi,怎么办呢zěnmebànne?”/El viento dijo: “Sí, pero tus piernas no tienen fuerza, ¿qué se puede hacer?”/The wind said: “Yes, but your legs have no strength, what can be done?”
/Al oír esto, el niño desdichado se echó a llorar sin decir nada./Hearing this, the poor child cried without saying a word.
/El viento entonces lo consoló diciéndole: “No llores, no llores, dentro de la casa también podemos jugar igual./The wind then comforted him, saying: “Don't cry, don't cry, inside the house we can also play just the same.
/Mira, te bailaré una danza.” Y así, el viento se puso a bailar dentro de la pequeña habitación./Look, I'll dance a dance for you.” And so, the wind began to dance inside the little room.
/Mientras bailaba, también cantaba con voz aguda./While dancing, it also sang in a shrill voice.
The poor child felt a bit happier, and gently clapped to keep time for it, until, exhausted, he lowered his hands and fell asleep.
/Entonces el viento se marchó silenciosamente de la pequeña choza./Then the wind quietly left the little hut.
/Llegó el invierno, y la enfermedad del niño desdichado empeoró aún más./Winter arrived, and the poor child's illness grew even more severe.
/Un día, el viento volvió a visitarlo./One day, the wind came to see him again.
/El niño desdichado no tenía carbón para quemar, no tenía ropa de algodón para vestir, ya estaba tan congelado que casi no podía hablar./The poor child had no charcoal to burn, no cotton-padded clothes to wear, he was already so frozen he could barely speak.
/El viento, al ver esto, se dio la vuelta y salió./The wind, seeing this, turned and went out.
/Fue a visitar varias casas de ricos, para pedir un poco de carbón para el niño desdichado, pero de todas lo echaron./It went to visit several rich people's houses, wanting to get some charcoal for the poor child, but was chased away from all of them.
/Al final, se encontró con una pequeña criada./Finally, it met a little maidservant.
/La criada sintió mucha compasión por el niño desdichado, y de su propio abrigo raído de algodón, arrancó un poco de algodón y se lo entregó al viento./The maidservant felt great sympathy for the poor child, and from her own tattered padded coat, pulled out some cotton and gave it to the wind.
她说tāshuō:“希望xīwàng这点儿棉zhèdiǎnrmián花能huanéng给gěi他tā带dài去qù一yì点儿温暖diǎnrwēnnuǎn,希望xīwàng他能tānéng快些kuàixiē好起来hǎoqǐlai!”/Ella dijo: “Espero que este poco de algodón pueda darle un poco de calor, espero que se mejore pronto.”/She said: “I hope this bit of cotton can bring him a bit of warmth, I hope he gets better soon!”
/El viento se apresuró a volar de regreso a la choza con el algodón, pero ya era demasiado tarde./The wind rushed to fly back to the hut with the cotton, but it was already too late.
/El niño desdichado ya se había dormido para siempre, y nunca más despertaría./The poor child had already fallen asleep forever, and would never wake again.
/El viento cubrió su cuerpo con el algodón, lo besó un rato, y rompió a llorar con el corazón desgarrado./The wind covered his body with the cotton, kissed him for a while, and broke down crying with a broken heart.
风哭了fēngkūle很久hěnjiǔ,突然tūrán站起身zhànqǐshēn,暴怒地bàonùde喊道hǎndào:“你们这些nǐmenzhèxiē富人太没有同情心了fùréntàiméiyǒutóngqíngxīnle!/El viento lloró mucho tiempo, luego se levantó de repente, y gritó furioso: “¡Ustedes, ricos, no tienen ni pizca de compasión!/The wind cried for a long time, then suddenly stood up, and shouted furiously: “You rich people have no compassion at all!
我wǒ发誓fāshì一定yídìng要yào让ràng你们nǐmen尝尝chángchang苦kǔ孩子háizi挨冻áidòng的de滋味zīwèi!”/¡Juro que los haré probar el frío que el niño desdichado sufrió!”/I swear I will make you taste the cold that the poor child suffered!”
And so, shouting loudly, it flew out of the little hut, carrying a bone-chilling cold that blew towards all directions.
Now, we should understand why the wind of the four seasons is different, it is because there was once a poor child in the world.
The spring wind brings the fragrance of flowers and the singing of birds, making us feel joyful, that's because the wind wanted to make the poor child happy; the summer wind always brings rain, that's the wind crying, crying for the poor child's misfortune, for not being able to eat the wild apricot the wind brought him; when autumn comes, we see the wind often dancing with fallen leaves, and singing in a shrill voice, that's the wind performing, to bring joy to the poor child; when winter comes, the wind we see is fierce, blowing furiously, again and again, as if wanting to sweep away completely all the evil in this world.
We can still see the cotton the little maidservant gave flying in the wind, but there's no one who can use it to make a cotton coat.
/Ahora, llamamos a ese algodón “nieve”./Now, we call that cotton “snow.”
