云云Yúnyun:大卫Dàwèi,你是nǐshì怎么过zěnmeguò新年xīnnián的de?/Yunyun: David, ¿cómo pasaste el Año Nuevo?/Yunyun: David, how did you spend New Year's?
/David: ¿Por qué preguntas eso? El Año Nuevo ya pasó hace tiempo./David: Why ask this question? New Year's has already passed so long ago.
/Yunyun: Dime rápido./Yunyun: Quick, tell me.
¿Y tú?/David: I received a lot of New Year's gifts, things to eat, to wear, and also quite a few books. What about you?
/Yunyun: Parecido a ti. About the same as you. I went ice skating outside, and when I got home I sat by the fireplace chatting with my parents. But there are people who weren't as fortunate as us.
大卫Dàwèi:谁shéi?/David: ¿Quién?/David: Who?
/Yunyun: La pequeña vendedora de fósforos./Yunyun: The little match girl.
¿Vendiendo fósforos? ¿Qué pasó?/David: A little girl? Selling matches? What happened?
/Yunyun: Mira qué impaciente estás, te lo cuento./Yunyun: Look how impatient you are, I'll tell you.
大卫Dàwèi:快讲吧kuàijiǎngbā!/David: ¡Cuenta rápido!/David: Tell me quickly!
On a cold New Year's Eve, there was a little girl in torn clothes, barefoot, selling matches on the street.
¿Por qué?/David: So cold and she still had to come out, why?
Because her family was very poor. If she didn't sell all the matches, her father would beat her.
大卫Dàwèi:真可怜zhēnkělián,有人yǒurén买mǎi她tā的de火柴huǒchái吗ma?/David: Qué lástima, ¿alguien le compró fósforos?/David: How pitiful, did anyone buy her matches?
On such a cold night, people were all rushing home to celebrate New Year, no one at all bought her matches.
大卫Dàwèi:后来hòulái呢ne?/David: ¿Y después?/David: What happened next?
/Yunyun: La niña, hambrienta y helada, se acurrucó en un rincón./Yunyun: The little girl, hungry and cold, curled up in a corner.
大卫Dàwèi:唉ài,这样zhèyàng不是búshì会huì被bèi冻坏dònghuài吗ma?/David: Ay, ¿no se congelaría así?/David: Oh, wouldn't she freeze like that?
She was so frozen she couldn't bear it anymore, so she struck a match to warm herself.
In the light of the match, she saw a big stove and many delicious things.
/David: ¿De qué sirve un fósforo? Igual sigue haciendo frío./David: What use is one match? It's still just as cold.
Later she lit a whole bunch of matches. Finally, she seemed to see her grandmother in the matchlight, and flew with grandmother to a warm place. The next morning, passersby discovered she had already died.
Si me hubiera encontrado a mí.../David: How tragic! If she had met me...
云云Yúnyun:遇到yùdào你怎么样nǐzěnmeyàng?/Yunyun: ¿Qué habrías hecho?/Yunyun: What would you have done?
I would buy all her matches, and take her to my house, so she wouldn't have frozen to death.
Pero eso fue hace más de cien años, ¿cómo podríamos encontrarla?/Yunyun: I think the same. But that happened more than a hundred years ago, how could we possibly meet her?
大卫Dàwèi:一百多年yìbǎiduōnián前qián?/David: ¿Hace más de cien años?/David: More than a hundred years ago?
/Yunyun: Sí, es un cuento de hadas llamado “La pequeña vendedora de fósforos”, escrito por Andersen hace más de cien años./Yunyun: Yes, this is a fairy tale called “The Little Match Girl,” written by Andersen more than a hundred years ago.
/David: Entonces tengo que buscarlo y leerlo bien./David: Then I have to go find it and read it properly.
