Xūjīng yìchǎng/Un susto en falso/A False Alarm
/Mamá (llamando a la puerta): Xiaohua, abre rápido./Mom (knocking on the door): Xiaohua, open up quickly.
为什么Wèishénme医生yīshēng走了zǒule后hòu,你Nǐ就jiù把bǎ自己zìjǐ关guān在zài房间fángjiān里lǐ,谁shéi都dōu不想bùxiǎng见jiàn呢ne?/¿Por qué desde que se fue el médico te has encerrado en tu habitación sin querer ver a nadie?/Why have you locked yourself in your room and don't want to see anyone since the doctor left?
小华Xiǎohuá(难过地nánguòde):妈妈Māma,我wǒ这么zhème小xiǎo就jiù要yào死sǐ了le吗ma?/Xiaohua (triste): Mamá, ¿voy a morir siendo tan pequeño?/Xiaohua (sadly): Mom, am I going to die while I'm still so young?
妈妈Māma(着急地zhāojíde):小华Xiǎohuá,你Nǐ怎么了zěnmele?/Mamá (preocupada): Xiaohua, ¿qué te pasa?/Mom (worried): Xiaohua, what's wrong with you?
我wǒ快要kuàiyào死sǐ了le,就jiù让ràng我wǒ一个yíge人rén安静ānjìng一会儿yíhuìr吧ba!/Me voy a morir pronto, déjame estar solo un rato en paz./I'm about to die, just let me be alone and quiet for a while!
妈妈Māma推开tuīkāi门mén:谁Shéi说shuō你Nǐ要yào死sǐ了le?/Mamá abre la puerta: ¿Quién dijo que te ibas a morir?/Mom pushes open the door: Who said you're going to die?
/Solo tienes un resfriado con fiebre, te pondrás bien pronto./You just have a cold and fever, you'll get better soon.
小华Xiǎohuá(扑pū到dào妈妈māma怀里huáilǐ):你Nǐ骗人piànrén!/Xiaohua (abrazándose a mamá): ¡Me estás mintiendo!/Xiaohua (burying himself in mom's arms): You're lying to me!
/El médico dijo que tenía 102 grados de fiebre./The doctor said I have a fever of 102 degrees.
¡Ya tengo 102 grados, no me voy a morir!/The teacher said the highest human body temperature is 44 degrees, and beyond that you die. I already have 102 degrees, won't I die?
Son diferentes./Mom (laughing): Silly child, the teacher was talking about Celsius, and the doctor about Fahrenheit.
华氏Huáshì102度dù只有zhǐyǒu摄氏shèshì38.9度dù,你Nǐ怎么zěnme会huì死sǐ呢ne?/102 grados Fahrenheit son solo 38.9 grados Celsius, ¿cómo te vas a morir?/They're different. 102°F is only 38.9°C, how could you die?
小华Xiǎohuá(惊喜地jīngxǐde):这Zhè是shì真的zhēnde吗ma?/Xiaohua (sorprendido y feliz): ¿Es eso verdad?/Xiaohua (surprised and delighted): Is that true?
妈妈Māma:当然Dāngrán是shì真的zhēnde啦la!/Mamá: ¡Claro que es verdad!/Mom: Of course it's true!
妈妈Māma还hái会huì骗piàn你nǐ吗ma?/¿Te voy a mentir yo?/Would mom lie to you?
Pedagogical Commentary: In the hospital: health and body vocabulary: 1. The transparency of form: Observing 医 (yī) or 院 (yuàn) helps connect the character's shape to its meaning, instead of memorizing it blindly. 2. The leap from character to word: These characters are rarely used alone; learning one opens the door to many new words. 3. Memory through context: Learning a character like 感 (gǎn) together with a real sentence helps far more than memorizing its meaning in isolation.
