Pedagogical Commentary: The little horse crosses the river: the wisdom of judgment and decision: 1. The transparency of form: Observing 喝 (hē) or 伯 (bó) helps connect the character's shape to its meaning, instead of memorizing it blindly. 2. The leap from character to word: These characters are rarely used alone; learning one opens the door to many new words. 3. Memory through context: Learning a character like 深 (shēn) together with a real sentence helps far more than memorizing its meaning in isolation.
