Pedagogical Commentary: Weather and the four seasons: characters that speak with nature: 1. The transparency of form: Many characters in this lesson still carry old pictographic or ideographic traits. Observing 风 (fēng) or 云 (yún) helps students 'see' the meaning rather than memorizing it blindly. 2. The leap from character to word: These characters are rarely used alone; they act as 'building blocks' for very common words. Teaching should focus on this combinatory power: learning one character opens the door to many new words. 3. Memory through context: Learning a character like 雨 (yǔ) together with a real example sentence helps far more than memorizing its meaning in isolation, and brings the student closer to real communication situations.
