Yìndù qíguān/Maravillas de la India/Wonders of India **

Yìndù。/Llegué a la India en avión./I arrived in India by plane.
好Hǎo一个yíge新奇的xīnqíde去处qùchù!/¡Qué lugar tan singular!/What a novel place!
/Por todas partes hay poesía, filosofía, mitología; en todas partes se despiertan las más hermosas fantasías de la gente./Everywhere there is poetry, philosophy, mythology; everywhere it arouses people's most wonderful fantasies.
All year round, everywhere there are flowers that never stop blooming.
/Los nombres de las flores y plantas, algunos ni siquiera la gente local sabe explicar bien./The names of the flowers and plants, some even the local people can't clearly explain.
The bodhi tree is, in Buddhism, a sacred tree, and can be seen everywhere.
On one large bodhi tree, I discovered many large fruits hanging down; looking more closely, they weren't fruit at all, but a group of bats hanging upside down from the branches.
At nightfall, when a bat spread its wings, they were as big as a washbasin.
To the southwest of Delhi there is a beautiful ancient city, called the Red Fort.
All the buildings in the city are painted pink, and so it is also called “the city of roses.”
/En realidad, bien se le podría llamar “la tierra de los pavos reales”./In fact, it might well be called “the homeland of peacocks.”
There, the peacocks are so numerous it's astonishing, some are even simply kept at home, just like raising chickens.
/Por la mañana temprano, antes de que se seque el rocío, se pueden ver varios pavos reales bailando entre las flores./Early in the morning, before the dew dries, you can see several peacocks dancing among the flowers.
/Al atardecer, los pavos reales salen a buscar comida./At dusk, the peacocks come out to look for food.
By the roadside, in the wild fields, they gather in groups of threes and fives, like beauties trailing long colorful skirts, not avoiding people at all.
/Aquí también hay elefantes./Here there are also elephants.
The elephant showed its pure white teeth, had patterns tattooed all over its body, wore copper rings on its ears, and a colorful ribbon tied around its neck.
/La persona que lo cuidaba lo llamaba “señorita elefante”, con razón lo arreglaban tan bonito./The person who kept it called it “Miss Elephant,” no wonder they dressed it up so beautifully.
While climbing the mountain, I rode on the elephant's back, and behind, someone was ringing a small bell, and “Miss Elephant” kept the beat, taking slow and clumsy steps, swaying from side to side, which made my bones ache a little.
After getting down off the elephant's back, the person who kept it said: “Give 'Miss Elephant' a little money to buy candy.”
/El elefante extendió inmediatamente la trompa hacia mí./The elephant immediately extended its trunk toward me.
I stuffed a coin into its nostril, and saw it flick its trunk backward, and the money was delivered right into its owner's hands; how clever it was!
/Hay muchas más cosas ingeniosas todavía./There are many more clever things still.
When you eat in a big hotel's restaurant, a little bird may fly in, circling around your legs looking for bread; when you go to visit a mosque or other historic site, a little squirrel will chase after you.
/Si te detienes, la ardillita se sienta, inclina la cabeza, y te guiña coquetamente los ojos./If you stop, the little squirrel sits down, tilts its head, and makes eyes at you playfully.
When you walk in the forest on the outskirts, look, on both sides of the path there are often monkey homes.
All you need to do is call out a few times, and many monkeys will slide down from the trees, and surround you.
/Los más atrevidos incluso se atreven a agarrarte el brazo con una mano, mientras con la otra te arrebatan el plátano de la palma de la mano para comérselo./The bold ones even dare to grab your arm with one hand, while snatching the banana from your palm with the other to eat it.
啊Ā!/¡Ah!/Ah!
这Zhè印度Yìndù奇观qíguān,多有duōyǒu诗意shīyì呀ya!/¡Qué llenas de poesía son estas maravillas de la India!/How full of poetry these wonders of India are!
